Meet our memory guides

Heather Manktelow

I am an Occupational Therapist. I was born in Coventry and now live in Devon. I love animals and have a black labrador dog called Frank. Together we do voluntary work for the charity Veterans With Dogs. Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2005, I have worked in the NHS, in Supported Living (Learning Disability), a Mental Health Hospital and a Dementia Care Nursing Home. For the past 10 years I have worked primarily with people living with dementia delivering Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and generally helping them to live well with dementia, and have fun.

Kate Bartlett

I am an Occupational Therapist, and for me this is all about supporting people to continue engaging in the things that help to make them who they are – when disability, illness or life circumstances have got in their way. I qualified in 2006 and since then have worked for the NHS, Adult Social Care, Age UK and as an independent Occupational Therapist, primarily in older adult and mental health services, including dementia services. My private work has exclusively focused on improving access to meaningful activity for people living with dementia.  I grew up on Dartmoor, and now live in Wiltshire with my husband, 2 children and our cat called Jon!

Maxina Till

I am an Occupational Therapist. I was born in California, USA and my family moved to Devon when I was 10 years old. I love singing and amateur dramatics. I have two young daughters who now fill my days! I work in a community mental health team for older adults and have supported people and their families living with dementia for the past six years since graduating in 2014.

Lydia Bray

I was born in Cornwall and now live in Devon. I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Counsellor and a Lecturer and Assessor in Heath and Social Care. I am currently assessing healthcare workers whilst undertaking their vocational qualifications which includes Dementia awareness. I have worked with people from all walks of life in my career and primarily supported individual people living with Dementia. I am passionate about person centred care and approach, promoting independence and supporting others to lead rewarding lives, including therapeutic activities for enjoyment. I am very proud of my two grown up children (where did those years go!) and three gorgeous granddaughters, who certainly keep me on my toes!
